Porcelain Veneers: Technology Continues
Porcelain Veneers have been one of the best cosmetic dentistry treatments over the past 10 years. Empress veneers allowed the astute and artistic dentists and ceramists to create lifelike and beautiful conservatively. Today, with new ceramics such as Emax we can extend this beautiful esthetic care even more conservatively.
Why? Emax is extremely strong and can be made as thin as .3mm! What does this mean for patients? Minimal tooth preparation or no tooth preparation. You may have heard about prepless veneers in the past such as Houston Lumineers, however, the esthetics of the Lumineers does not come close to those that can be achieved wit Durathin Porcelain Veneers or Emax Porcelain Veneers.
The case in the photo is one of an 18 year old with no-prep Houston porcelain veneers. These were Durathin and my ceramist was able to layer the porcelain to achieve natural coloration.
