Houston TMJ Dentist, Ronald W. Konig DDS, FAGD, LVIF has noticed a trend of many cases of TMJ or TMD in which patients are on medication to try and control their migraine headaches and other symptoms due to these issues. I will be the first to say that not all migraines are TMJ related, however, a large percentage are and so many patients suffer needlessly and are on medications which alter their daily lives. Some cases are obvious, such as when these patients have clicking or popping in their jaw joints or limited opening of their mouths, or pain when chewing, or even neck aches. Others are less obvious: forward head posture, limited neck rotation, dizziness, headaches..and more.
Interestingly, I have personally been working and collaborating with Neurologists, ENTs, Plastic Surgeons, and even Physical Therapist to merge all of our thoughts to better help change our patients quality of life.
