Cosmetic Dentistry is a wonderful tool for correcting many problems with smiles. However, to make the cosmetic dental care last, the bite (way teeth meet together) needs to be evaluated carefully. In this case, this young lady had an overbite that caused her worn down and thinned her front teeth to point where they were almost transparent.
Rather than just place porcelain veneers on these teeth to her existing bite that caused these problems, the bad bite was corrected prior to the veneers being placed. This not only allowed more room for the teeth to be built back to their natural length but also corrected her overbite that caused these issues.
This benefits the patient as she will not break and wear down the new veneers the same way she wore down her natural teeth, her lower 1/3 of her face was corrected as well (non-surgical facelift in the dental office), and her TMJ pain is gone.
As for the cosmetics, her teeth are now their original length and were designed to create a natural yet more attractive appearance. Take notice of the anatomy and translucence that has been designed in the veneers.
