Porcelain Veneers to create a beautiful smile
Poorly shaped, discolored, spaced teethVeneers to correct shape, proportions, and spaces
There is a lot more that goes into smile designs than most people realize. Most patients in our office have high expectations and have a really keen understanding of how they would like their smile to look.
Why do some cases look better than others?
The case above is an upper and lower veneer case, a smile makeover. One factor in smile design that is often overlooked is proportion. Proportion with regards to one tooth tooth the adjacent tooth. When I design smiles, I use what is called golden proportion rule which gives the dimensions of the width for each tooth so that they appear natural in size and appealing to the eyes. It does not, however, stop here. The width versus the height must also be considered otherwise you could get teeth that look to wide or short and square or too long.
On top of this, the design of the anatomy of the teeth also play a role in how light is reflected off the teeth. Another factor in designing porcelain veneers is also the shape that follows the lip line.
These and many more factors contribute to creating beautiful veneers and smiles. It is a mulifactorial art and science and allows me to design different smiles for different individuals.
